Adventure Diary – March 2022
It’s been an incredibly exciting month here at Global Adventure Challenges, as our first overseas challenges for almost 2 years have taken place! Our very first Northern Lights trek, along with two groups on our Sahara Desert Trek and a group on our Lapland Husky Trail Sled set off on their adventures this month. Keep reading to find out more about their challenges, and how you can follow in their footsteps!
Northern Lights Trek
When: 2 - 6 March 2022
Where: Iceland
Our Northern Lights trekkers spent three days walking through breathtaking mountain scenery, taking in picture-perfect views. They visited Lake Þingvallavatn, hiked to the Vörðuskeggi mountain pass and explored the hot springs of the Geothermal Valley along the way, with a dip in the Blue Lagoon as a reward for their hard work! Well done everyone – we hope you enjoyed your adventure!

Two groups set off this month to take on our Sahara Desert Trek – one in support of LOROS Hospice, and the other for a range of fantastic causes. They both took on a 4 day trek across the ever-changing landscape of the awesome Sahara Desert, including an early morning climb to the top of the enormous Chigaga Dunes to watch the sunrise! The days were long and the trekking was tough, so a massive congratulations to everyone who joined us!

What’s Next?
There’s an exciting year packed with adventures ahead, and we can’t wait to return to many of the destinations we’ve been missing over the past two years!
Exciting News - Our Vietnam to Cambodia Cycle is good to go!
One of the places we’re most excited to see is Vietnam, which has very recently reopened its doors to tourists. Not only is travel to the country back on the menu, but there is also no need to test on arrival, provided that visitors take a PCR test within 72 hours or an ATK test within 24 hours of departure to Vietnam. Cambodia has also relaxed its entry requirements to include the land border with Vietnam – so our Vietnam to Cambodia Cycle is officially good to go!
Our next challenge departs in November 2022, will we see you there?
