Raising Money for Charity
If you’ve become inspired to do a good deed and raise some money for charity, you might be struggling for ideas about how to go about it. Luckily for you, we’ve compiled a few ideas to help you get started. Your charity piggy bank will be overflowing in no time!
Host your own bake-off
Whip up a storm in the kitchen and make a selection of classic cakes that you can sell on your very own stall. Once you’ve recruited your volunteers, ask them to bring their goodies packaged in pretty bags and boxes, this will not only be more hygienic and save time, but it will make the cakes look a whole lot more appealing to the eye – especially if you want to advertise your bake sale on social media!
Make things as easy as possible for your customers to by clearly labelling your cakes with a few price points. Alternatively, you might want to forego pricing altogether and ask your customers to donate any amount they see fit.
Sell your old clothes
If you’re long overdue a wardrobe clear-out, why not sell the clothes you don’t want any more to those that might. There are plenty of websites out there that make it easy for you to put your unwanted items up for sale (check out Depop, Twicely and ASOS Marketplace, for example) but this won’t be as fun as setting up a car boot sale with your friends.
The best way to attract customers is to hang everything on a clothes rail. Trust us when we say that dumping them on a table in a huge pile and hoping that people will spend time raking through isn’t a good idea.
Quiz your friends
Pitting your general knowledge against another team is always fun. In that case, why not run a quiz night to achieve your fundraising goal? First, consider the type of quiz you want to host. Will you base your questions on a theme? If there’s a special occasion coming up, such as Halloween, this is an alternative way to celebrate it.
Once you’ve secured the perfect venue, set the ticket price and promote your quiz as much as you can. To encourage people to participate, get your hands on a good prize. You might want to speak to a few local business owners to see if they can help out. After all, it’s all going toward a good cause.
Take on an extreme challenge
Charity challenges are becoming a more popular option because they give participants a chance to something good for charity alongside benefitting their own personal wellbeing. Extreme challenges will give you a chance to see how far you can push yourself and demonstrate your commitment to the charity of your choice.
More often than not, an extreme challenge won’t just be a chance to test your mind and body, but an adventure. At Global Adventure Challenges, we offer cycling, trekking and sledding challenges that allow you to explore some of the world’s most breathtaking wonders and make memories that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
